The fifth (semi-annualNew England Photowalk is coming this May to Nantucket Island. "Once the whaling capital of the world, Nantucket is now a tourist’s delight."

Date / Time

Saturday May 6, 2017 / 2:00-5:00 pm

NOTE: Registration is now full. We are still accepting names for overflow - should a spot open up.

NEWLK is a social get-together twice a year in various scenic New England towns and villages to exchange ideas, take photos and have a good time. For this round we will be meeting up on Nantucket Island at 2:00 pm. The walk will take us up and down the streets, wharves and beaches of Nantucket Island.  Some of the trails around here are rocky but you can get by with casual shoes.

Lodging is on your own.

What gear to bring? It doesn’t matter what you use – large format, medium, small, film, digital, pinhole, cellphone, etc. – all are welcome and we encourage diversity! The best part of these walks is talking about our various equipment; likes, dislikes, quirks and so on. As an FYI - a handful of us will be shooting 35mm B&W film, just because - but you can shoot anything you like.

Dinner is super-casual this time as we will be going to the walk-up Easy Street Cantina (menu) and meeting there around 5/5:30 pm. Can't guarantee a table as it's first-come, first-serve. We are going this route as most are staying on the Cape and want to catch the 8:20 pm ferry back.

Getting Here

We will be meeting on Nantucket Island at 2:00 pm sharp at the end of the docks (where the High Speed Ferry drops off). You can come across by the Hy-Line, Steamship, or your own yacht from Hyannis on Cape Cod. There is plenty of parking on the Hyannis side (see here) and there are plenty of taxi and shuttle services on the island to get you around if needed.

Nantucket Island Ferry - Hy-Line or Steamship

Where to stay? Some will be staying on Nantucket Island, others will be staying on the Cape, and some just traveling for the day. You have a ton of options, but I'd start looking soon as place book up fast. A handful of us have already booked an AirBnB just outside Hyannis in Dennis Port, MA.

Walk Along with Us

Walk will be limited to 25 people, so first come first serve. I’ll allow over-bookings in case of cancellations. Register below!
