Well, as you know, yesterday was the official launch of Physical Grain - and boy was that a lunch. Never have I had a website launch with such amazing turnout and feedback. In just the first 24 hours, over 5,000 stories have been read on Physical Grain! Wow. (Thank you to those that continue to RT the launch post!)
Getting 26 stellar photographers with wonderful stories are really what made this a success, and I want to thank each and every one of them for the time, effort and dedication they not only put into their own work for the site, but also the time and care they have put into discussing photos of other photographers on the website. The comments section under each photo has been just a tremendous success!
I have received some humbling feedback and praise for you all from the folks at Richard Photo Lab, Carl Zeiss Lenses, Leica as well as several independent camera shops that took the time to write me - not to mention the emails thanking us all for this new website.
Along with all that, I also received 9 new submissions for the site - all excellent. I haven't worked out a schedule yet for these as I want to get a feel for how often they will come. I am holding off until January for the next piece of Grain, so these 26 have a proper amount of exposure.
My Twitter feed is temporarily being taken over by Grain, but will (most likely) return to zen_bones in the future. I did create a new Instagram account, which will feature all the images on Grain as teasers back to their articles.
Let me know how you think the site is going, would love to hear from you. You can leave feedback right on my first post if you like.
